My most commonly used needles are my universal and stretch needles. Do you have a fave you like to use? 🤔

MUM-MADE ✂️ One of the great things about sch MUM-MADE ✂️

One of the great things about school holidays is that my boys get to wear their mum-made tees much more often! Here are a couple of Mario tees I made for them last year. I’m so lucky they still don’t care if they’re wearing matching tees when they go out – not deliberately, they just love them so much that they tend to be first out of the drawer.

I’m not sure how much longer it will last now that my biggest boy will be turning 11 this year but I’m just enjoying it while it lasts. Mums with older boys – do you still have kids that will wear your handmade clothes? Any tips for making it last as long as possible? 🤔
SEWING GOALS 🙌 So last year I started this rid SEWING GOALS 🙌

So last year I started this ridiculously ambitious project, the “We are the Storm” quilt by @libselliott. It uses English Paper Piecing which is a completely handstitched technique to create this incredible pattern (swipe for the finished pattern). I thought about it for quite a while before committing but I found the finished quilt so captivating!

I worked out if I sew 4 rows a year I can have it completed in 5 years. At first that sounds completely crazy but actually I’m really enjoying having a long term slow sewing project to work on. One great thing about it is that it’s completely portable and great for taking on holidays. Here I am working on it at our recent holiday to Kalbarri. I’m only on my second row, so behind already but I’ll see if I can catch up this year.

Do you have any long term projects your working on? Maybe trying to reduce your stash (aren’t we all?!)
Happy 2021 sewing peeps! As you embark on your cre Happy 2021 sewing peeps! As you embark on your creative projects this year try to focus less on perfection and more on the process. Celebrate all the wins, and learn from those bits that didn’t turn out quite as you planned. Perhaps it turned out better that way? 🤷‍♀️
{2020 WRAP UP} It’s definitely been a crazy yea {2020 WRAP UP}

It’s definitely been a crazy year for all of us but so many wonderful things have happened too 🤩 For Sew for Life some of our highlights have included working from a new venue in Joondanna, an unprecedented increase of interest in classes resulting in many sell-out class release nights, my first time video recording a sewing course (an exclusive for our past students), introducing a new pattern option in the beginners course, our biggest and best retreat ever and I’m sure a bunch of other things I can’t remember right now!! 🤪

I’m so very grateful to each and every one of you for supporting myself and my teachers through Sew for Life this year. It really means the world to us that you love our philosophy and share our passion for creating ✂️

There are lots of exciting things to come in 2021 including the reintroduction of two past courses AND a new teacher joining our team!

We can’t wait to see you all in the new year. Merry Christmas everyone!! 😃
Today I’ve been making up a bunch of Basics Tool Today I’ve been making up a bunch of Basics Tool Kits filled with all our fave goodies ✂️ They’re perfect for our beginners starting next term or as a gift for newbie sewists. I’ve also added a BONUS wrist pin cushion to this bunch so they’re extra good value! Tap above for more info ☝️
Today I’ve been busy pre-cutting fabric ready fo Today I’ve been busy pre-cutting fabric ready for our next group of beginners starting next week. ✂️ In the first lesson of Sew from Scratch our students make a washable cutlery (or sunglasses) pouch. We provide the fabric already cut and ready to go so everyone can make and take home a finished pouch! 👌
What was the first thing you ever sewed? Can you even remember? 🤔
